Marcus & Millichap
I’m a copywriter, but I haven’t always been one. In making the career transition, I brought with me a world of other experience that informs my work daily.
When I first moved to LA (most recently from Colorado, England before that, and Texas, Dublin, Seattle, and Boston before that), I spent several years working my way up the producer ladder in TV before coming to the realization that everything about the job made me miserable. Everything, that is, except the writing. “So why don’t you try copywriting?” an extraordinary, perceptive Account friend asked. A couple years and a bunch of Book Shop classes later, that’s exactly what I tried, and (thankfully) I genuinely enjoy it.
With RPA, I created the dashboard hula doll campaign for ARCO, made some fun HR-V content for Honda, and helped shift perception of ampm’s new mascot Toomgis from the stuff of nightmares to the lovable monster that he is today. In early 2019, I got the opportunity to go in-house with Marcus & Millichap as their first staff copywriter, with the goal of creating their brand voice. That directive has now broadened to include their MMCC and IPA divisions as well.
In my spare time, I keep in touch with my comedy roots by cowriting and performing in sketches with Super Dork House. I also write short stories and longform pieces on my own, and tweet occasionally.
